FAQ

At our MD Cosmedical Solutions Sydney Clinics we have been achieving excellent results with our Double Light laser vein treatments. Our success rate for removing unwanted facial veins & leg veins is over 95% for suitable veins.

For most patients, facial veins removal require between two to three treatments, while leg veins removal & spider vein removal require around three-to-four treatments. The period between each treatment session is normally one month.

Most patients experience a mild sensation, which feels like a rubber band snapping when undergoing laser vein therapy. Generally the treatments are comfortable. However, for those who are sensitive, a topical anaesthetic cream may be used to numb the area being treated. No bandages are required and you can immediately return to your normal daily activities.

Because the laser varicose vein removal treatment works by causing the unwanted veins to break up and dissolve, resolution of the vein will take place over the course of several weeks. Most patients will see significant results after the first or second treatment.

The treatments that we offer at our MD Cosmedical Solutions Clinics are completely safe. The side effects from the treatments are very mild and uncommon. They may include transient redness or bruising, which resolves within a few days. However, there is no burning, scarring, or risk of infection.

PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE

  • Stay out of the sun for at least two weeks before your treatment, and use a sun block with a protection of factor 30 when exposed to sunlight.
  • Do not use self-tan or solariums for at least two weeks before your treatment.
  • Avoid taking Aspirin, Nurofen and other NSAIDs a few days before and during treatments if possible.
  • Please shave (or clip) any hairs in the area to be treated. This will make the veins more accessible.
  • Some women may experience exaggerated skin sensitivity prior to and during their monthly
 periods

POST-TREATMENT ADVICE

  • Gently cleanse the treated area twice-a-day with a moisturizing soap or cream for several days. This will keep your skin hydrated.
2. Mild redness or bruising are occasionally possible after treatments. If redness or bruising does occur, it is unlikely to last more than a few days. The redness is a natural response and you need not be concerned about it. Similarly, mild bruising is part of the treated veins breakdown, and indicates a normal process. Daily application of a moisturizing cream will help soothe the skin.
  • Until the redness has completely subsided, DO NOT :
- Apply make-up over the treated areas (i.e. face)
- Use scented lotions or soaps, defoliant creams (Retin-A and alpha-hydroxy), loafer sponges or scrub aggressively
- Use hot or cold water wash with tepid water
- Shave or scratch the treated areas
- Swim in pools or spas
