FAQ

FAQ

APL Photorejuvenation is a specialized treatment involving the gentle delivery of pulsed light energy to the face or other areas of concern. This special pulsed light stimulates collagen and elastin production, and has other specific healing qualities. The result is a more healthy and youthful appearance.

Any skin areas are treatable. The most common areas are the face, neck, chest, shoulders and hands.

There are many treatable skin conditions including ageing skin, sun damaged skin, fine lines, wrinkles, scars, pores, capillaries, telangiectasia, pigmentation and rosacea.

Most patients require five to six treatments at regular intervals. There is normally an interval of two to four weeks between each treatment.

Treatments are very comfortable and there is no pain involved. No topical anaesthetic is necessary .

Treatments are very simple and safe. There is no redness or any other adverse skin changes involved during or after the treatments. The positive benefits begin to become visible soon after each treatment. There is no downtime whatsoever.

PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE

Every patient at MD Cosmedical Solutions Clinics is offered a consultation and skin analysis prior to their procedure. At the time of your first consultation, you will be tested to properly evaluate the correct settings for your skin condition and skin type. Our consultants will then document these parameters in your individual client chart for future reference.

POST-TREATMENT ADVICE

  • After treatment, we recommend that you wash your face using cool water and apply moisturizer cream twice daily. This will help to rehydrate your skin and assist with new collagen/elastin formation.
  • Avoid extreme sun exposure for several days after each treatment.
  • Use a sun block with a SPF factor of 30.
  • Ask our consultants about our recommended post-photorejuvenation skin care products.
