Due to the unique design of the specially designed and patented barbs of the Aptos Threads, the surrounding tissues act to hold the threads in place without the need for visible scars. For the mid-face, nose & body thread lift procedures, the surgeon makes a tiny needle entry points, and the threads are advanced along the previously marked contour lines, thus creating a firm hold on the underlying tissues without causing additional trauma. The barbs do the work of holding & lifting by being fixated to connective tissue as they are softly contoured into place.

HOW LONG DOES A NOSE THREAD LIFT TAKE TO PERFORM?

Local anaesthesia with some mild sedatives may be used. The procedure duration depends on the number of Aptos Face or Body Threads to be implanted. Most of the Aptos Nose Thread Lift Rhinoplasty procedures take between 40 to 50 minutes.

WHEN CAN I RESUME NORMAL DAILY ACTIVITIES?

Aptos Threads are a lunchtime procedure, and are performed under local anaesthetic. There are no incisions, stitches, scars or bandages. There may be some minor bruising that can be concealed by makeup. Most patients can return to work and light exercise on the next day.

WHAT ARE THE USUAL SIDE EFFECTS?

MD Cosmedical Solutions have not had any complications with Aptos Thread Lifts. However in the event of increased redness & pain in the treatment area, or fevers, please contact the clinic.

The aftercare for Aptos Threads is simple but important:

Simple analgesia (e.g. Paracetamol or Nurofen) for the first 24 to 48 hours if required
Ice application to the treated area for the 1^st 24 to 48 hours
Sleep on 1 extra pillow (slight elevation) for the 1^st 48 hours for Nose Threads procedures
Take prophylactic antibiotic prescribed by your doctor for 5-7 days
No massages or manipulation to the treatment area for the 1^st 6 weeks post procedure
