WHAT ARE WRINKLE INJECTION TREATMENTS?

Wrinkle injection treatments or “anti-wrinkle facial injections” involve the use of a natural, purified protein that relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles creating a smoothed, rejuvenated and more youthful appearance. It’s a simple non-surgical procedure that smoothens the deep, persistent facial lines that develop over time. HOW WRINKLE INJECTION TREATMENTS WORK

Many facial wrinkles occur when we make repeated facial expressions. The wrinkle injections relax the tiny facial muscles that cause expression lines, leaving the overlying skin smooth and unwrinkled. Once the muscle is relaxed, you cannot contract it and continue to make the undesirable facial expression. Thus the lines gradually smooth out from disuse, and new creases are prevented from forming.

Wrinkle treatment injections work on the specific areas treated. Other muscles like those used to raise the eyebrows are not affected so a natural expression is maintained. It will not “freeze” your facial expressions – it softens them and works where you want it to work.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE WRINKLE TREATMENTS

The procedure involves a doctor or registered nurse injecting tiny amounts of a purified protein into selected facial muscles by using a very fine needle. Discomfort is very minimal and brief. Most people resume normal activities immediately. After injection, it takes 2-3 days for the injections to begin taking effect and around 7-10 days to see the full result.

The procedure may last over four months, depending on the individual. You can decide to repeat the procedure as you wish. The result will wear off gradually and expression lines slowly return. To maintain the effect you will require repeat injections 3-4 times a year. Studies show that with repeat treatments, the effect can last longer so you may require less frequent treatment in the future to maintain the result you have come to like.

In the amounts used for wrinkly therapy, side effects rare, temporary and localized to the area of injection. These include mild tenderness, soreness, mild bruising (which can be easily covered with makeup), headache and less commonly, you may develop a heavy eyelid lasting 1-4 weeks. There have been no permanent side effects of anti-wrinkle injection treatments reported.

1. Reshaping Nose

The nose can be made bigger, more striking, thinner from the front, straighter and for it to have more shape. This procedure narrows the face to make it look more “European”.  It only takes a few muscle relaxant injections into the chewing masseter muscles (also a great treatment for patients who grind their teeth), and between 7 – 10 days later, when the results kick in (due to the resulting inactivity of these muscles the muscles become smaller therefore making the face look more narrow).

3. Opening eyes & making them rounder
